Welcome!

We are Sophie & Joe. Many years ago we decided to relocate back to the area & were looking for a new home – something simple that we didn’t need much work doing to it. Things couldn’t have turned out more different!

We have always loved the area around Perran, so one morning we decided to go for a walk to Prussia Cove. Walking up from the village we saw Trebarvah Barn, up for sale… 5 minutes later we were sitting having a cup of tea with its lovely owners & it was becoming VERY clear that we were already falling in love with the place!

At that time the barn had mud floors, a tin roof, no electricity, no water, no sanitation & it was obvious that it would be quite a project to turn this in to our home (especially as neither of us had the first idea about DIY let alone building!) Every day the excitement of the prospect that someday we might live there would give way to the realities of the challenges ahead.

Thankfully we took that leap of faith, bought the barn &, with the help of some fantastic local tradesmen, started renovating it. The learning curve was steep but immensely satisfying as things started taking shape.

Many years on & the dream has very much become a reality. We live in this magical spot & are able to welcome guests to the Milk House. As well as the stunning location, we are blessed with a wonderful community around us that all add to the unique character of this beautiful place.

Hopefully you’ll come & see what makes it quite so special.
All the best!

Sophie & Joe

Thank You, Thank You!!!

Despite all of our own hard work we certainly couldn’t have got anywhere without the help of so many people. These include…
Brian Keast & his team (Builders), Ray & Ken from K&A (Joiners), Mike Laity & Simon Thomas (Heavy Groundwork), Damian & his Team from Penwith Tank & Drain Services (Septic Tank), Dan from Norsk (Carpentry), Our Friends & Neighbours (for their support & patience!), Luke Puckett & Nick Dury (For being on the end of the telephone to answer our constant inane questions!) …and of course John & Wendy Boase (For making this possible in the first place!)
